The Chartres Crucifixion window is a painting that I completed in April, last year. It replicates one scene located within a large window at the beautiful Cathedral in Chartres, France. I blogged about this painting and Chartres here.
The famous Chartres Labyrinth with the Cathedral
Most faithful were unable to make penitential pilgrimages to Jerusalem, instead the Cathedral offered spiritual pilgrimages to members using symbolic imagery.
Since the Cathedral is an active parish, the labyrinth is usually covered over by chairs, in that way it discourages tourists from using it during mass times etc...
