This website is dedicated to the Blessed Mother. My first "Note" was published on September 8th, 2013. With every reflection, imperfect as some are, I've learned a little more about my God, myself, and the faith culture that I love.
"Devotion to you, O Blessed Virgin, is a means of salvation which God gives to those whom he wishes to save." --Saint John Damascene.
Featured below is one of two chasuble projects that I have had the privilege and great honor to present to my Queen over these past few years. I unexpectedly (and surprisingly) received this paid chasuble commission shortly after my return from a pilgrimage to the Miraculous Medal Chapel, Rue De Bac in Paris, 2014, and it was completed the following year.

Something about The Miraculous Medal history
St Catherine Laboure, visionary and promoter of the Miraculous Medal, resided at the convent on Rue du Bac in Paris.
"It was on November 27, 1830, that Catherine reported that the Blessed Mother displayed herself inside an oval frame, standing upon a globe, with rays of light coming out of her hands and in the direction of a globe. Around the margin of the frame appeared the words 'O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.'"
In 2014, I was able to visit Ruc de Bac in Paris. It was only a short while because I had lost hours trying to find my way on the winding, crisscrossing Parisian streets. However, the good news is that I did make it, and just in time, to attend the last Holy Mass of the day. Afterward, people were exited out and the entry gates were locked.
Several other lovely churches are located within the general vicinity, although none compare with this one and its saintly history.
St Catherine's incorrupt body is encased in glass beneath the side altar on the front left.
Liturgical Calendar Dates
About 24 years later, in 1854, the Dogma of the Immaculate Conception (celebrated on December 8th), was declared. It is believed that the Miraculous Medal with its 'conceived without sin' slogan influenced popular approval.
The upcoming traditional feast of the Birthday of Mary, "The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary", September 8th, is situated on the liturgical church calendar nine months after the Solemnity of her Immaculate Conception.
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.
