Anne recently wrote in her memoirs about the fall grape harvest. She included the photos (above) with the captions:
"Time to harvest! Wish I could share the delicious scent of my grapevine arbor with these pictures!"
Anne went on to write about the harvesting and labor in progress:
"Leaf bugs are so fascinating! Playing with guy was a nice break from picking 15 gallons of grapes.
I'm halfway done. Now I've got to cook them all into juice for jelly pie, and this year, for the first time
in 21 years, WINE! The thought of that wine as a reward after all of this hard work keeps me going!
So thankful that God blessed my family with such a bountiful harvest of grapes this year!"
"Who will help me eat the bread?"
Said the little red hen to her animal friends.
"I will," said the cat. "I will," said the dog.
"I will," said the billy goat.
I'm not sure how Annie's adventure will end but here's the link to the rest of The Red Hen story.
Another tree of life!
An appropriate way to close September and the summer season.
