On the Feast of St Isaac Jogues and St Jean de Brebeuf, featured today is a very simple, Western style icon of only 4x8 inches commemorating St Isaac Jogues. It was was completed earlier this year for a young man named Isaac.
Note his missing fingers? They were gnawed off by the pagan Mohawk children in one event of torture. Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! How could he bear this? It is because St Isaac was a really, really tough and zealous priest, who loved God to Nth degree, had a solid belief that the Catholic faith was the means of salvation, and was willing to go to great lengths to find and save souls in Jesus' name:
