Frame choice is a very important aspect and custom frames are costly. It took a while to decide.
This frame was designed so that the paintings can be removed. I can easily insert or remove three panels.
The original Coronation has been updated to compliment its new frame. Arches have been added at the top along with other minor refinements.
The painting is 21 in. x 33 in.
The mat and frame colors for this special painting were
selected after I visited the greater Krakow's Polish churches and shrines in May of 2014.
Many of the altar and decorative pieces are painted or stained dark with gold trim. Often red is a prominent accent color.
There are three mats total. The black, outer mat is a woven linen, the middle mat is a golden rice paper, and the red inner mat is slightly variegated.
The frame has an antiqued lily pattern with "fly specs" as they are called. These are tiny dots give it a vintage appearance.
These choices compliment beautifully the black background and vibrant colors in the painting.
The latest product in picture glass is Museum Glass. You can hardly tell that the glass is there.
