What a beautiful day.
Photo above: St Joan of Arc chapel door.
The Milwaukee area community is celebrating the 50th anniversary of this chapel's restoration. Several St Joan artworks are on display in the Marquette campus museum.
Inside the chapel
The altar and podium were "embellished" with vintage "Portuguese Tapestry" at the time of my visit. What a welcome surprise. This is the pattern that I am currently (and very slowly) painting on board in egg tempera and I was delighted to see it in use as it is often overlooked these days. It works well here and truly gives this little chapel an Easter-time glow.
A very basic history above and do check on Mass times before arriving (don't rely on the video info). About the discovery of a silent film version Joan of Arc.
