Thorns and thistle crowned. What does this mean?
Passages of Note
Upon the awful Thistle she beheld,
And saw him keepéd by a bush of spears; ....
A heaven gone to ground,
Ground gone to seed...
Christ, in His perfect atoning sacrifice,
has delivered us from the curse of sin,
of which a thorn is a symbol.
...thorns and thistles for our sakes...
The thistle lifts a purple crown...
One crown that no one seeks
And yet the highest head....
Your thistles and thorns
Are winter's old and out worn
For spring again is born ....
