The project stalled for weeks as we waited for one final element to arrive. There were unforeseen manufacturing delays. Then it arrived: It was determined that the back wall (drywall) needed to be ripped out in order to accommodate a sturdier support frame behind it. That was unexpected! The knock-down plaster finish would need to be reapplied a second time. Shucks. Making a hole in the house and then putting all back together. Two weeks total. Completed in time for Christmas 2023. The high windows give the room a bungalow feel and there is now plenty of daylight. Next? I am designing a stained glass pattern for the three panes. They will be based on historic stained glass windows located in Ireland. Son Paul will craft them at the studio. That will take some time. Icon writing back on deck. Grateful for that!
